Press Release: Gilbarco Veeder-Root develops AdBlue® for cars solution
Basildon, 28/10/2013 - The AdBlue® for cars dispenser demonstrates Gilbarco Veeder-Root's commitment to introducing environmentally friendly fuels at the forecourt.
Following the success of AdBlue® for the commercial trucking industry, the use of AdBlue® in private vehicles is expected to rise with the German Car Manufacturers Association (VDA) predicting that by 2020 there will be around 23 million Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) equipped cars using AdBlue® technology for clean emissions. There are a number of reasons for this predicted increase, particularly the requirement for car manufacturers to meet stringent European emission targets and the Euro VI standards due to be introduced from September 2014.
Gilbarco Veeder-Root is currently conducting field trials of its AdBlue® for Cars dispenser in a few sites across Germany. Gilbarco Veeder-Root's ATEX approved AdBlue® car dispenser comes as a standalone or a multi-product dispenser with the possibility to integrate a 1,100 litre AdBlue® tank. Accuracy is maintained through a best in class Coriolis meter and specifically designed Elaflex nozzle. In addition, the dispenser is equipped with a unique integrated heated hose solution to maintain ambient temperatures without use of heavy doors and covers. The product when launched will be a versatile solution allowing easy retrofits to existing regular fuels combis.
By integrating the AdBlue® dispenser into the forecourt, AdBlue® dispensing will become more accessible as customers can fill both Diesel and AdBlue® from the same filling position. This ability to conveniently provide AdBlue® on the forecourt also eliminates the need to stock and dispose of AdBlue® bottles, making dispensing more environmentally friendly.
