With nearly nine out of 10 consumers now preferring enhanced self-checkout options, Utah-based retailer Holiday Oil is leaning into the trend by installing Passport Express Lane™ self-checkout system at high-volume locations.
Holiday Oil’s newest location will be the first of its 62 stores to feature self-service.
Their goal: reduce checkout wait-time, increase speed of service, and protect the health and safety of customers and employees inside the store.
“During this pandemic, Passport Express Lane self-checkout allows customers to socially distance inside the c-store, enhancing personal safety during their shopping experience, said Blain Boelter, Vice President at Holiday Oil Co. “Passport Express Lane system was easy to implement and is very easy to use by our guests.”
As social distancing stretches lines more than two times longer in stores with already limited space, cutting down queues has become a key focus for retailers.
Holiday Oil will install self-checkout kiosks at two other high-volume locations in the next two weeks.
