Alcoa and Gilbarco Veeder-Root develop solution in aluminum for Fuel Pumps
Partnership seeks the creation of fuel pumps more durable, especially in littoral zones.
Alcoa and Gilbarco Veeder-Root, The worldwide leader in fuel pumps technology with integrated POS solutions, have just become partners in Brazil. The Company is providing aluminum plates for Gilbarco Veeder-Root’s fuel pumps production, which will contribute significantly for the equipment’s’ durability.
Alcoa is the global leader in primary and transformed aluminum production, as well as the biggest bauxite mining and alumina refinery in the world, as well as an important player in the development of innovative products and applications with high value in aluminum. “We are very satisfied with this partnership and we believe that our entering in this market only proves the advantages and effectiveness of the aluminum use in new solutions”, says Celso Soares, Director for Alcoa Latin America & Caribbean Laminates.
Gilbarco Veeder-Root is the first Brazilian producer that has substituted carbon steel for aluminum when manufacturing fuel pumps. The initiative is part of the Company’s quality program, that convers every process from products to services. Besides infinitely recyclable, the aluminum is resistant to corrosion.
